ICD-10 Tip of the Week: Under-dosing

Under-dosing is a new concept with ICD-10. Document Under-dosing is when a patient is taking less of a medicine than prescribed.
If known, your documentation should capture:
 Intentional, Unintentional or Non-Compliance behavior?
 Is this the Initial or Subsequent encounter related to Under-dosing?
 Reason the patient is not taking the medicine?
 Financial hardship?
 Age-related debility?
