Global Business Forum Sessions Streaming Live

The stage is set Thursday and Friday for the University of Miami Global Business Forum, which will feature top business and government leaders, including Kathleen Sebelius, the U.S. secretary of health and human services; Jeffrey R. Immelt, chairman and CEO of General Electric; Thomas M. Ryan, chairman and CEO of CVS Caremark; and Margaret Hamburg, commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, among others.

Several of the key sessions at the Global Business Forum, including panels hosted by Miller School Dean Pascal J. Goldschmidt, M.D., will be streamed live to the medical campus. On Friday, January 14, Dean Goldschmidt will moderate the plenary panel session titled “Managing Conflict of Interest: The Patient-Centric View” from 8 to 9:15 a.m. and host a panel session titled “Coping with a New Landscape of FDA Regulations: The Patient-Centric View” from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

Anyone interested in watching selected live sessions can go to the Lois Pope LIFE Center, seventh-floor auditorium to view the live webcast. The following sessions will stream live:

Thursday, January 13
8:15 to 9:15 a.m. — Opening Plenary, Kathleen Sebelius
9:30 to 10:30 a.m. — Margaret Hamburg and UM President Donna E. Shalala
12:30 to 2 p.m. — Luncheon Speaker, James Forbes
4 to 5:30 p.m. — Signature Panel, Quest Diagnostics NOTE: This session will stream live in the Rosenstiel Medical Science Building, third-floor auditorium.

Friday, January 14
8 to 9:15 a.m. — Opening Plenary, Dean Pascal J. Goldschmidt, M.D.
9:30 to 10:45 a.m. — Second Panel, Dean Pascal J. Goldschmidt, M.D.
12:30 to 2 p.m. — Luncheon Speaker, Arthur Agatston, M.D.
4 to 5:30 p.m. — Closing Keynote, Jeffrey R. Immelt and Thomas Ryan
