Firefighters Turn Up the Heat for UM/Jackson Memorial Burn Center

Over Memorial Day weekend, faculty from the Miller School’s Department of Surgery teamed up with the Fire Chiefs Association of Broward County, the Broward County Council of Professional Firefighters, and Professional Firefighters and Paramedics of Broward County for the “Fill the Boot for Burns” campaign to benefit the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Burn Center.

Louis R. Pizano, M.D., associate professor of clinical surgery and chief of the Division of Burns, Nicholas Namias, M.D., professor of surgery and chief of the Division of Trauma, and Carl I. Schulman, M.D., M.P.H., associate professor of clinical surgery, joined firefighters who set up in 20 locations to raise funds for burn prevention, education and research programs at the Burn Center
