One More Day for Ticket Distribution for Family Weekend with the Miami Marlins
The last day to pick up tickets for the Family Weekend with the Miami Marlins is Wednesday, March 27, on the Schoninger Research Quadrangle from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In appreciation of the dedication and outstanding work of its employees, the University will once again host the event on Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28, at Marlins Park in Little Havana, where the Marlins will take on the National League Central Division Chicago Cubs at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday and 1:10 p.m. on Sunday.
Each regular employee, as well as contract employees, can receive one complimentary ticket and purchase up to two additional tickets for $1 each. Employees are allowed to pick up one complimentary ticket and purchase up to two additional tickets for one game only — either the April 27 or April 28 game. Children under 3 do not require tickets. Each ticket comes with a food voucher for a hot dog, chips, and a fountain drink or bottle of water.
You must have a valid UM ID to receive your tickets; only one ID card per person will be permitted, and you cannot bring anyone else’s ID to purchase tickets for them. You can only receive tickets at a single ticket distribution session; you cannot go multiple times. Cash only will be accepted for all ticket purchases. Tickets for both games will be available for sale while quantities last.
Contract employees must pick up their tickets at the Foote University Green location near the Richter Library.
Pregame and Postgame Activities
Each game will feature pregame activities for the entire family. Family activities and entertainment will be located on the West Plaza from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 28 (UM ID required). Pregame on-field ceremonies, including UM employees throwing out ceremonial first pitches, will highlight the University of Miami at both games.
The Saturday game has been designated the “Saturday Spectacular” and will include a free postgame concert on the West Plaza with Coolio featuring Biz Markie. The Sunday game is the “Family Sunday” game and will feature a giveaway for kids.
Each ticket purchased for UM Family Weekend with the Miami Marlins will come with one bonus voucher valid for two tickets up to the value of a home-plate box to the Cincinnati Reds (May 14-17) or Milwaukee Brewers (June 10-12) games only. The vouchers cannot be redeemed until April 29.
