Dr. Charles B. Nemeroff to Deliver Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Lecture to YPO/WPO Community
The Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Miami and the World Presidents’ Organization (WPO) Miami/Fort Lauderdale will host a special presentation by Charles B. Nemeroff, M.D., Ph.D., the Leonard M. Miller Professor and Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Director of the Center on Aging, on Thursday, March 21, from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the sixth floor of the Clinical Research Building.
Nemeroff, a leader in the field of behavioral medicine, will present “Frontiers of Science – Psychiatry and Behavioral Disorders: From Children to Seniors.”
His lecture will include segments on “Teenage and Adult Addiction – Markers and Treatments for this Chronic Disease,” “The Plague of Suicides – Early Warnings and Prevention,” “Behavioral Disorders: Brain Diseases, Their Prevalence, Staggering Costs and Solutions,” and “Aging Gracefully.”
Since joining the Miller School faculty in 2009, Nemeroff has led the department’s meteoric rise in treatment, research, education, faculty and researcher recruitment, and national rankings. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including “Psychiatry Chair of the Year” for his contributions to the field, dedication to and innovations in patient care, and commitment to research and education.
