Department of Pathology Hosts ‘PINK’ Day

On October 22, in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Department of Pathology engaged its teams in a day of thankfulness and purpose. In keeping with the thematic use of the color pink in October, the department decided to give ‘PINK’ its own special meaning.

P – Pathology
I – Interaction (through)
N – (k)Nowledge (and)
K – Kindness

“While we in pathology do not often have direct contact with patients, what we do is fundamental to all of our patients,” said Richard J. Cote, M.D., Professor and Joseph R. Coulter Chair of the Department of Pathology, professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, Chief of Pathology at Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Director of BioNIUM. “Many decisions about how we care for and treat patients are based on the results we provide. The patients may not see us, but we know they benefit from our care.”
