Charlotte S. Barrett Named Chair-Elect of Commission on Health Informatics Accreditation
Charlotte S. Barrett, M.B.A., Assistant Vice President of Health Information Integrity at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, has been named chair-elect of the Board of Directors of the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
With more than 30 years of hospital, practice management and education experience in Miami, Barrett has served on many health care and university committees and boards. Her national leadership positions include past president and distinguished member, American Health Information Management Association, and commissioner and accreditation council member, Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education.
CAHIIM directors are volunteers who serve in support of quality assurance in higher education within CAHIIM’s scope of accreditation services and contribute to the quality performance measures, accreditation standards and processes driving improvements in health informatics and health information management academic programs in colleges and universities across the United States and Puerto Rico.
CAHIIM’s Board of Directors and accreditation councils strive to help students, the public, and employers seek the education and graduates that meet their expectations and are prepared for today’s complex health care environment and tomorrow’s health information challenges.
