American Cancer Society Resource Center Opens at Sylvester/UMHC
Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has partnered with the American Cancer Society to open a Cancer Resource Center for current patients, survivors and caregivers.
The center serves as a retreat to read and relax, and computer access is provided for browsing www.cancer.org and other informational sites. Free educational materials are available as well as a “gift closet” with wigs, scarves, baseball caps, mastectomy bras and prostheses. The Cancer Resource Center is located on the second floor of Sylvester/UMHC, room 2310, across from the retail pharmacy. It is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon on Friday.
The center’s specially trained volunteers offer free guidance and can help cancer patients and their families access needed services and programs.
