Denise Armellini, MD obtained her medical degree from Luis Razzeti School of Medicine-Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1999, where she earned honors in Internal Medicine. She subsequently completed her Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in NY. Dr. Armellini trained in our Fellowship Program and became interested in thyroid diseases, with special focus on thyroid nodules and cancer. She is certified in US guided thyroid FNA and recently spent time as a visiting faculty at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NY. At UM she is a Co-leader of the Thyroid and Other Endocrine Tumor Site Disease Group, a full multidisciplinary team that manages thyroid and neuroendocrine tumors
