Dean’s Perspective: Miami Medicine Winter 2012
The Miller School of Medicine and all of its health care entities have always believed in putting the patient first, both in medical care and customer service. But today there is a more formalized and coordinated patient-centered service initiative to ensure that belief is the cornerstone of everything we do. We call it UCare, for You Can Achieve Real Excellence, and four years after it was born, UCare continues to improve access to and the delivery of compassionate, high-quality health care throughout the UHealth-University of Miami Health System.
In this issue of Miami Medicine, the flagship publication of the Miller School and UHealth, Dean Pascal J. Goldschmidt, M.D., profiles four people who are key to the UCare effort: Michele Chulick, associate vice president and COO of UHealth’s Hospital Division; Jackie Liberto, assistant vice president of strategic operations and clinical informatics; Bill Donelan, vice president for medical administration and chief operating and strategy officer; and Maria Cabrera, RN, M.S.N., director of perioperative services at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center/University of Miami Hospital and Clinics. They each exemplify the talent, tenacity and commitment it takes to ensure complete patient satisfaction, and to keep improving upon our accomplishments.
Michele, Jackie, Bill and Maria are true health care champions. They are UCare ambassadors who find new ways, every day, to hardwire our commitment to excellence in patient care. Learn more about these UCare leaders by reading transcripts of the Dean’s engaging conversations with them.
